Designed with a touch of British pub inspiration, this home bar brings a moody and refined atsmophere into the living space. Dark tones, layered textures and bespoke detailing create a perfect balance between modern and timeless character.

Design Process
This residential project in Bel-Air, located in Hong Kong’s Southern District, is a 1,200 sq. ft. apartment designed for a two- to three-person family. The design concept was shaped around two key elements requested by the homeowners: a refined home bar and an appreciation for classic design aesthetics. To integrate the bar seamlessly within the open-plan layout, the dining table was positioned alongside a custom bar counter, anchored by a feature wall bar cabinet at the rear. This arrangement creates a sociable hub where the homeowner can mix and enjoy drinks while dining and entertaining, enhancing both functionality and atmosphere.

Design Process
Given the apartment’s modest ceiling height, the living and dining areas were planned as three distinct yet interconnected zones. To maintain a sense of unity and avoid visual clutter, a grid-pattern ceiling with integrated lighting was introduced, bringing cohesion and character to the shared space.

Design Process
A rich, dark-toned palette defines much of the cabinetry, extending from the living area into the kitchen to create continuity. The study adopts a softer grey scheme, while the bedrooms—particularly the master—incorporate warmer tones at the request of the female homeowner, pairing deep browns with soft off-whites to establish a welcoming and tranquil environment. To balance the use of darker finishes and prevent the interiors from feeling heavy, light herringbone flooring and selective mirrored surfaces were employed. These elements reflect natural light throughout the apartment, enhancing brightness while preserving a sense of elegance and depth.
