his apartment in Royal Ascot was designed for a three-person family consisting of an elderly couple and their daughter, who resides abroad most of the time. Both owners have a passion for cooking—ranging from Chinese and Western cuisine to baking—so the kitchen became a central focus of the design.
ConceptualizationandPlanning
Design Process
A spacious food preparation counter was incorporated, and to balance openness with practicality, a large floor-to-ceiling glass sliding door was installed. This allows the kitchen to visually connect with the living area while still containing smoke and grease from Chinese cooking. From the living room, the wife can enjoy a clear view into the kitchen, enabling her to interact and carry on conversations with her husband while he cooks. In this way, the design creates not only a functional cooking space but also a warm and connected family environment where no one feels left out.

Design Process
In line with the owners’ preference for a grand aesthetic, the interior design features a palette of light wood complemented by a mix of marble finishes and subtle brass accents. Together, these elements create a refined, elegant atmosphere that blends warmth with sophistication.
